Young batting sensation Tilak Varma has made a stupendous start to his international career. The 20-year-old made his international debut on August 3 against the West Indies in the first T20I of the five-match series, which the tourists lost by four runs. Despite India's defeat, Varma top-scored for the team when all other batters failed to perform.
Varma discussed his debut experience with fellow teammate Ishan Kishan ahead of the second T20I, which will be contested at the Providence Stadium on Sunday, August 6. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) took to Twitter and shared the friendly banter between the two young cricketers.
The wicketkeeper-batter, who steered the conversation, asked Varma to address his expanding fanbase, to which the latter replied, "I would like to say keep supporting." Varma then linked his experience to the song 'Till I Collapse,' and the 25-year-old said that, "Please viewers, listen to the song, it's Tilak Varma's journey in a way.β However, the 20-year-old clarified, saying, "It's not my journey, I like the song."

Kishan expressed his sincere admiration for Varma at the end of the conversation, noting that he plays his natural game and will succeed in the shorter format.
"I have seen your game personally and how you deal with pressure situations. You play your natural game and you will do very well in this format and especially in all other formats too when you get the chance. So, all the best to youβ said Kishan.
Meanwhile, West Indies won the toss and opted to bat first in the first T20I. Skipper Rovman Powell played a crucial 48-run innings to help his team set a 150-run target for the tourists. Yuzvendra Chahal and Arshdeep Singh picked up two wickets each for India. India batters fought hard during the chase, but they were limited to 145 runs eventually.
