‘To our super blue’ - Football Club Chelsea wishes Shreyas Iyer on his 28th birthday

India’s prolific batter Shreyas Iyer received a lot of love from the cricketing fraternity as he celebrated his 28th birthday on December 6. Apart from the Mumbaikar, a lot of renowned cricketers including Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja had their birthdays on the same day. However, to the surprise of the fans, popular English Premier League football club Chelsea posted a special birthday wish for Iyer.  

The current group of Indian cricketers has been spotted playing football on numerous occasions in practice sessions. Further, Virat Kohli and popular Indian footballer Sunil Chettri have also interacted with each other on social media, which is an excellent step in the development of both the sports. 

Notably, Iyer had visited Chelsea’s home ground Stamford Bridge and posted images of it on Instagram earlier and also revealed his love for the club by sporting their jersey.

The official Instagram handle of Chelsea repaid their love for Iyer with a fantastic post to wish him on his birthday. The post garnered a lot of likes among Indian fans quickly on Instagram.

Meanwhile, Iyer is currently part of the Indian ODI squad for the Bangladesh tour. He had a good outing in the first ODI until he perished for a 39-ball 24. The prolific batter will be looking to make up for the early dismissal in the first game as the two teams meet in the second ODI of the  series on December 7 at the Shere Bangla Stadium. India lost the first ODI by one wicket and are down 0-1 in the three-match series.
