'Told you!' - Trent Boult, Joe Root congratulate Rajasthan Royals teammate Yashasvi Jaiswal on WTC Final selection

Indian young batting sensation Yashasvi Jaiswal has been rewarded for his sensational performance in IPL 2023 as he has been added as a stand-by player to the World Test Championship final 2023 squad. The 21-year-old has replaced Ruturaj Gaikwad, who has pulled out of the squad due to his wedding.
The WTC 2023 final will take place between India and Australia from June 7 at the Oval in London. Jaiswal shared a photograph of him alongside India skipper Rohit Sharma as the duo made their way to England to join the camp.
The Rajasthan Royals opener took to Instagram to share the photograph and wrote, “Off to England 🏴for the World Test Championship Final with the one and only @rohitsharma45 🇮🇳.”
The post attracted comments from his RR teammates Joe Root and Trent Boult. "Good luck Yash," commented Root while Boult commented, "Told you! See you in October."
Former England captain Michael Vaughan also commented on the post and wrote, "Fully deserved.”
Notably, Jaiswal had a dream season in IPL 2023 as he scored 625 runs in 14 innings at an average of 48.07 and a strike rate of 163.61. The southpaw had one hundred and five fifties to his name. Jaiswal’s tally of 625 runs is also the highest number runs scored by an uncapped batter in the history of the tournament.

The opening batter also registered the fastest fifty in the history of the tournament reaching the landmark in just 13 balls against Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
He left behind Pat Cummins and KL Rahul who achieved the feat in 14 balls. As far as first-class cricket is concerned, the Mumbai opener has played in 15 matches and scored 1845 runs including nine hundreds and two fifties at an average of 80.21.
Meanwhile, Indian Players have been travelling in batches to England following the end of their respective IPL campaigns. The likes of Axar Patel and Shardul Thakur were the first ones to reach and have been training under head coach Rahul Dravid.
