The rumours of Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma permanently shifting to London have again caught fire as the star India batter returned to the United Kingdom after the Sri Lanka series. Kohli and family have been avid visitors to the English country for the past few years and the grapevine was abuzz about them making the country their forever abode. The latest picture of the former India skipper crossing on the streets of London has fuelled the speculations.
The 36-year-old had taken an off time in December 2023 and flew to the UK along with his wife as the duo were photographed in one of London’s restaurants. When the couple was expecting their second child, they were found spending time away from the media glare in the same city in February. Moreover, after the T20 World Cup 2024 win, Kohli boarded the flight at midnight just after the victory parade to join the family in the UK.

Just to feel normal for two months for me: Kohli
The Delhi batter has been vocal about finding solace away from the homeland where his stardom intrudes his personal space inevitably. He also mentioned that he liked staying in Europe where no one recognises him, given fewer people follow cricket. He was back for the IPL 2024 season in March after a UK tour and he made sure to mention that staying in England helped him stiffen his relationship with his little daughter.

“We were not in the country. Just to feel normal for two months for me, my family it was a surreal experience. I couldn’t have been more grateful to God for the opportunity to spend time with the family. It’s an amazing experience to just be another person on the road and not be recognized,” Kohli said.
