The Women's Premier League 2024 saw the second match featuring Royal Challengers Bangalore against UP Warriorz at Bengaluru's M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. The Warriorz won the toss and elected to bowl first.

The innings for the Challengers kicked off with an opening duo pairing Sophie Devine and Smriti Mandhana. However, their start hit a snag when Devine was dismissed in the second over with only 13 runs on the scoreboard. Following suit, the captain, Mandhana, also fell shortly after, contributing 13 runs.

A crucial innings unfolded as Sabbhineni Meghana anchored the team, scoring 53 runs from 44 balls. Despite early departures, Richa Ghosh stepped up, making notable contributions with a quick 62 runs off just 37 balls, including 12 fours. Nonetheless, consistent wickets led Bangalore to conclude their innings at 157 for the loss of six wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

Chasing the target, Gujarat faced a challenging start, losing captain Alyssa Healy in the second over with only ten runs on the board. Subsequently, Vrinda Dinesh and Tahlia McGrath built a promising partnership but couldn't sustain it, scoring 18 and 22 runs, respectively.

Grace Harris and Shweta Sehrawat then formed a remarkable partnership, both contributing 38 and 31 runs, nearly dominating the game. However, the 17th over by Sobhana Asha, where she took three wickets, turned the game in favour of Bangalore.

Poonam Khemnar played a few impactful shots towards the end, adding intrigue to the match. Nevertheless, it was Shobana's five-wicket haul in her four-over spell that ultimately secured the victory for RCB, enabling them to open their account on the points table with a narrow two-run win.
