Pakistan's fast bowling legend Wasim Akram came up with a funny reply after a fan asked him whether clothes do get completely clean after using Ariel (a detergent brand). The incident happened during a live segment of the Pakistani sports show ‘The Pavilion’ which was also attended by Wasim’s former bowling partner Waqar Younis and veteran batter Misbah-ul-Haq.
It so happened that all of three cricketing greats were invited to the show as panelists and had donned Pakistan’s latest ICC T20 World Cup 2022 edition jerseys. Waqar went on and read a fan’s letter and mentioned that the message was for Wasim before he (Wasim) started reading it out.

“There is a question and it is a very important question. This is for you (referring to Wasim Akram) and the question is 'Do clothes really get cleaned if washed with Ariel?',” Waqar Younis read.
Wasim Akram and the other panelists present on the show including the anchor were left in splits on hearing the question after which the ‘Sultan of Swing’ gave a cheeky reply.
“I have been washing clothes for ten years and I am 56 years old. I can assure you that the clothes do get cleaned completely. Ariel. Ariel”, he said.
However, the real fun started after his hilarious reply. The anchor called Akram ‘National Dhobi’ and the 1992 World Cup winner responded in an amusing manner.
“Yaar National Bhabhi toh sunna tha National Dhobi pehli daffa sun raha hu,” he said.
