Wishes pour in from all parts of the country as India’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, is celebrating his 72nd birthday on Saturday, 17th of September. The honourable Prime Minister shares a longstanding relationship with many Indian and foreign cricketers and is loved and admired by athletes across sports. 

He is an ardent supporter of the game and is known to follow cricket wholeheartedly. He also often puts out tweets to show his love for the game. Thus, it's only fitting that the Indian cricket fraternity wishes him on his birthday.

Born in 1950 in Gujarat’s Mehsana district, PM Modi currently is currently on his second stint as India’s Prime Minister. He also has the world’s biggest cricket stadium named after him in Gujarat. The stadium can host up to 1,32,000 spectators and has already hosted many international matches including Tests, ODIs, T20Is and even IPL games.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi turns 72

Former India captain Virat Kohli led the way as he wished PM Modi strength, happiness and good health on his 72nd birthday. 

“Wishing our Hon. Prime Minister @narendramodi ji, a very happy birthday. Wishing you strength, happiness and good health.”

Former India head coach Ravi Shastri thanked PM Narendra Modi on his birthday for taking India’s international diplomacy to an all-time high. The World Cup winner also prayed for his strength and expects the Prime Minister to continue his good work for years to come.

“Many happy returns of the day, Hon’ble @narendramodi ji. Thanks for taking India’s international diplomacy to an all-time high like never before. God bless you with even more strength to carry on the good work in years to come,” said Shastri in a tweet.

Sachin Tendulkar considered one of the greats of all time, wished the Prime Minister of India health and happiness on his birthday. 

“Happy Birthday to our Hon'ble PM Shri @narendramodi ji! Wishing you the best of health & happiness,” Tendulkar wrote in a tweet.

Many other legends of the game including Mithali Raj, Suresh Raina, Gautam Gambhir, KL Rahul, Dinesh Karthik, Amit Mishra, Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh, Ravindra Jadeja, Smriti Mandhana wished PM Narendra Modi on his birthday.
