Yuzvendra Chahal India's ace leg spinner and Rajasthan Royals' premier bowler had yet another impressive season in the Indian Premier League as he bagged 21 scalps in 14 matches at an economy rate of 8.18. The 32-year-old leggie was a part of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) before he joined the Rajasthan camp and hence was able to form some strong bonds with a lot of players while playing for RCB.
Chahal recently caught up with the former South Africa international and an RCB legend AB de Villiers and shared a beautiful picture of the meeting on the micro-blogging site Twitter.
There is no hidden fact that de Villiers and Chahal share a great camaraderie on and off the field. After spending eight long years with Royal Challengers Bangalore, Chahal on multiple occasions has praised the guidance he received from de Villiers.
Taking to Twitter the former RCB spinner posted a picture with the veteran AB de Villiers and wrote an intriguing caption. Chahal wrote, “ AB Sir kinda Sunday….how you doing?”
This is not the first time the India leg spinner has expressed his gratitude for de Villiers. At the time of his retirement too, Chahal had put out a beautiful tweet for the South African legend. Chahal and de Villiers during their playing days for RCB were instrumental in the franchise's overall success.
Yuzvendra Chahal had an astonishing IPL 2023 as he finished the season with 21 scalps to his name and on the basis of his performance, Chahal also became the leading wicket-taker in the IPL of all time surpassing Dwayne Bravo’s tally of 183 wickets. Currently, the 32-year-old has 187 wickets to his name in 145 matches. The Haryana-born spinner also ended the season as the leading wicket-taker for Rajasthan and was one of their key players in the IPL 2023.
