Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag took to his Twitter account today to congratulate Sourav Ganguly who celebrates his birthday today. Ganguly, who turns 45, has been one of India’s finest captains without a shade of doubt.
Virender Sehwag, being a regular on Twitter did not waste time in playing his part on the special day. The Nawab of Najafgarh posted two tweets in honour of the valiant leader. Sehwag dedicated his success in Test cricket to Ganguly in his first tweet whereas his second tweet was a sheer entertainer much like his playing days. The first tweet read “Whatever success I could achieve in Test Cricket,I truly attribute it to the wonderful support you gave me @SGanguly99 . #HappyBirthdayDada.

In his second tweet, the Delhi-born star posted a picture of himself along with ‘Dada’ in the commentary box where he sat towards Ganguly’s leg side. He captioned the picture with a hilarious line stating that its always safer to sit on Sourav’s leg side as the left-handed genius has the capability to hammer anything on his off, be it a ball or human. He also termed the birthday boy as the ‘God of offside’ a nickname Ganguly earned during his playing days.
Sourav Ganguly was quick to return the favour to his once-teammate and good friend Viru as he replied to the latter’s comment on Twitter. Ganguly thanked the destructive opener and wished that he had the ability to scare the bowlers and play like Virender Sehwag. The reply from Ganguly shows the mutual respect the two absolute legends have for each other.
Ganguly wrote “thank u Viru ..wish I could play like u ..lots of love”.
