A remarkable all-round display from the Indian Team saw the hosts get hammered in the most obnoxious way possible at Kingsmead, Durban. Virat Kohli and his troops managed to outclass the Proteas in all three departments which eventually ensured a six-wicket win over top-class limited overs side. The scoreboard pretty much reflects India’s dominance in the first encounter and South Africans had no answers whatsoever.

The toss had fallen in Faf du Plessis favor and he asked the opposition to bowl first. South Africa lost a wicket in almost every seventh over putting unnecessary pressure on themselves. Banking ton by the skipper Faf du Plessis along with dazzling cameos from Chris Morris and Phehlukwayo helped South Africa reach a respectable total of 269 runs.

In reply, Indian team started off really well before Rohit Sharma got out on a short delivery. His departure led Virat Kohli to the crease, who yet again showed the world that he is capable of making a paradigm shift from being aggressive while fielding to being calm while batting. He along with comeback man Ajinkya Rahane ensured India a comfortable win.
