Veteran Indian cricketer MS Dhoni is revered as one of the most humble cricketers to have played the game. He has rarely shown his emotions on the cricket field. And that particular trait has fetched him the tag of being a ‘cool’ cricketer. In the Centurion T20I against South Africa, a very different side of Dhoni was seen though. In the match, MS Dhoni scored his second-ever T20I fifty.
He smashed an unbeaten 52 off just 28 deliveries. His knock was studded with four boundaries and three maximums. He started off slowly in the innings but gradually picked up pace. In the final over, he managed to cream away 16 runs to take Indian team to a decent total of 188/4 in the stipulated 20 overs. Also, in the game, the other batsman who gave the impetus to the Indian innings was Manish Pandey.
Manish scored an unbeaten 79 off just 48 deliveries with 6 fours and 3 sixes. Dhoni and Pandey stitched an unbeaten 98 run stand off just 56 deliveries for the fifth wicket in the game. The duo bailed India out of trouble after a rare top order failure saw the visitors on the back foot. During the partnership, MS Dhoni was certainly having a lot of calculations going on in his head.
Dhoni uses the cuss word on mic
Being the senior player, he had to ensure that he takes India to safety in the match. Perhaps, this was the very reason why Dhoni was seen losing his temper as well. While many did not notice the scene, a video of the same has become viral on the social media now.
In the video, Dhoni is seen visibly unhappy with Manish Pandey looking elsewhere. He is heard using cuss words to call Manish Pandey and is apparently scolding him too. The stump mic clearly caught Dhoni shouting, “Oye! Bho*&I$# Idhar dekh le. Udhar kya dekh raha hai?!” Much to Dhoni’s defense, the former captain could have possibly said something else. But from what it is apparent to the listeners, it seems that Dhoni did use a cuss word on the mic.
Well, from the way things perspired, it is apparent that Dhoni wanted the non-striker batsman, Manish Pandey, to keep an eye on the field placings and how to go about the plan in the final overs. Watching Pandey looking elsewhere and not noticing Dhoni’s ideas, the latter got a tad disappointed. And Dhoni did not shy away from showing away his emotions.
