India vs South Africa on day four
South Africa and India will be up against each other on day five of the opening game in Centurion where visitors seem in a commanding position. If rain doesn’t play a spoilsport, the Virat Kohli-led side might be able to stamp their authority in the Rainbow nation. Talking of the game on day four, the visiting side flagged off the day with their batting show which couldn’t last long.
Had it not been for India’s 327 runs in the first innings, their second innings show could have landed them in trouble as the entire side folded up on merely 174 runs. In order to score quick runs and boost up the target, India started losing wickets in due course and none of the batters could open up arms.
Indian skipper Kohli repeated the same yet again as he tried disturbing a ball quite outside his off stumps and ended up giving his edge to Quinton de Kock. Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane also kept struggling with the bat and Rishabh Pant’s 34 gave a little relief to the side towards the end. Marco Jansen and Kagiso Rabada picked four wickets each to restrict the visitors below 200 runs in the second innings.
How’s the weather expected to be on day five in Centurion?
Proteas came back to take up the chase and ended the day while losing four wickets in scoring 94 runs. Skipper Dean Elgar is standing unbeaten and firm on the crease and also brought a fighting half-century before ending day four in Centurion.
The temperature is expected to remain between 16-27 degrees Celsius with clouds mostly dominating the day as per AccuWeather. A few thunderstorms are also expected during the afternoon hours of the 5th day. 5.7 mm precipitation and rainfall have been forecasted for December 30th in Centurion.
India can likely take the game in their favour as they are six wickets away from the victory. However, disturbing weather and Elgar’s long stay on the crease may come between the visiting nation and their much-awaited victory.
