Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed has come under strong criticism over his use of words against South African cricketer Andile Phehlukwayo during a recent ODI match in Durban. The wicket-keeper was caught on the stump mics calling Phehlukwayo as “black guy” after an edge from the latter missed his stumps closely. Ahmed faced a backlash for his act with cricket supporters even seeking a strong punishment for the player.

Ahmed seemed to have lost his cool in that game, the second in the five-match series which Pakistan are currently trailing 1-2 after winning the first match in Port Elizabeth. Pakistan were all out for 203 but then them having put the opponents under pressure, a solid partnership between debutant Rassie van der Dussen (80 not out) and Phehlukwayo (69 not out) drove the hosts home.

And apart from Phehlukwayo, Ahmed targeted his counterpart Faf du Plessis as well during the chase, as another video footage has gone viral. It was early in the Proteas chase when they lost two wickets and van der Dussen was out in the middle with skipper Faf du Plessis.

Faheem Ashraf was bowling the over with South Africa on 24 for 2. Du Plessis was on strike and quicker one from the right-hand fast bowler took off, surprising the batsman who just about withdrew his right arm from the grip. The fielding side was charged up at the moment as they had a moderate target to defend and had taken a couple of wickets.

Bachay Baazi karta hai yeh

It was then when Sarfaraz Ahmed was heard asking the bowler to repeat such deliveries against the batsmen saying, “Yaheen kar isko yaheen kar, bachay baazi karta hai yeh” (bowl more of these stuff to this batsman, he indulges in ‘bachay bazi’ which is a slang used in Afghanistan to describe sexual exploitations of young boys).

In Afghanistan, there’s an ugly practice of making young boys and men wear women’s clothes and dance in parties and sexually exploited.

It is yet not known how many people understood the curse language the Pakistan captain used against the SA batsman for it evaded the commentators’ notice. But if it also comes up for consideration, then Ahmed could be in for more trouble.
