After floundering in the five-match ODI series, Sri Lanka came up with a strong performance against South Africa in the opening T20I at the Newlands in Cape Town. The match wasn’t high-scoring but kept the audience at the edge of their seats. The game went to a super-over and despite the visitors trying their hearts out, the Proteas managed to come out trumps and took a 1-0 lead.
However, the Lankans, led by Lasith Malinga, can take heart from the fact that the hosts won’t have a few of their top players in the remaining two matches. The next game is scheduled to be played tomorrow at the SuperSport Park in Centurion. It’s undoubtedly a chance for the visiting team to draw level in the series. The Proteas won’t want to let to surrender the ascendancy though.
The second game of the 3-match T20I series between South Africa and Sri Lanka will be hosted by SuperSport Park in Centurion.
The match starts at 6:00 PM local time (4:00 PM GMT) (9:30 PM IST). The game will be live on Sony SIX and Sony SIX HD in India. (Live streaming in Sony Liv).
