South Africa will start their ‘post 2021 T20 World Cup’ campaign with a short three-match ODI series against The Netherlands that will begin on 26th November 2021. This series will conclude on 1st December 2021.

Even though the Proteas were knocked out of the 2021 edition of the T20 World Cup in the Super 12 stages, they were extremely impressive in the tournament, winning 4 out of their 5 matches. And as expected, after a long-drawn high octane tournament like the T20 World Cup, South Africa have rested several of their marquee players for the series.

Their regular skipper Temba Bavuma will not take part in this series, along with the likes of wicketkeeper Quinton De Kock, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, and Aiden Markram. Keshav Maharaj will don the skipper’s hat for this assignment.

On the other hand, the Netherlands played the qualifiers of the 2021 T20 World Cup, but could not qualify for the Super 12 stages of the competition. In fact, the Netherlands produced an abysmal performance in the qualifiers, losing all their 3 matches.

South Africa will surely start as the favourites in their own den. But The Netherlands will be looking to pull off a surprise when the two sides clash in the 1st ODI.

Pitch and Conditions

The pitch is a good one for batting, and we can expect a high-scoring rubber when these two sides clash in the 1st ODI. The margin for error for the bowlers will be minimal on this surface.
