SRH release Jonny Bairstow ahead of IPL 2022 mega auction

IPL franchises have been set with a deadline of November 30 to provide their list of retained players, which is just a few hours away (at the time of writing this article). Talking around a big development in the Sunrisers Hyderabad squad, top-class batter Jonny Bairstow has been released by the franchise ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction.

As per the reports, SRH were set to retain Kane Williamson and Rashid Khan but the deal with the ace spinner couldn’t get finalized. As of now, they are expected to retain Williamson and uncapped players, Abdul Samad and Umran Malik. Samad can be a great prospect for them in the upcoming days, on the other hand, young Malik stunned all with his pace in the 2021 edition of IPL.

It was clear from the starting only that the orange franchise won’t be sticking with their winning skipper David Warner. He had a forgettable time in the 2021 season where he was sacked from the captaincy and then was even removed from the XI. In the latest turn of events, SRH came up with an IG post where they thanked all their players for being part of their journey. It had a group picture of players with caption as-

“We thank the players for their contribution to SRH over the years. This is not a goodbye, as we hope to welcome back some Risers in the auction.”
