Siddarth Kaul was one of the vital cogs of the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL). He played a crucial role in their run to the finals and has been one of the best death overs bowlers for them in the last couple of years. He was part of the playing XI for all the 17 matches of the tournament and performed decently. However, he recently responded to the tweets from the fans which has become the norm these days and was done by his skipper Kane Williamson as well.

Kaul managed to pick 21 wickets in the games he took the field but couldn’t keep a lid on the run-scoring of the opposition. More importantly, the second half of the IPL was a forgettable one for him as the teams targetted him as the weakest link of the bowling attack. But he came out on top at crucial junctures for SRH and scalped wickets when they needed the most. He was instrumental in the team’s victories when they defended low totals during the course of the tournament.

Kaul promptly responded to the tweets from the fans as he was one of the shining lights of the IPL and also found a place in ODI and T20I squads of India.

Secret of the headband

Siddarth Kaul was asked about the secret of the headband by one of the fans to which he clarified that someone had just told him to wear it while playing. He also went on to say that it only his hard work which is getting him the wickets on the field and the band is not doing any magic. “No, I don’t think so because of the headband I am getting wickets. It’s all about my hard work which is helping and the head band has just become the trademark which had come into the IPL,” he said.

Another fan hilariously questioned him if he uses the knuckle ball only on the field or to smash on someone’s face as well. Kaul couldn’t hide his smile over the question and said, “It is nothing like that. I am a chilled out guy and don’t believe fighting and all mostly. I try to keep everyone around me happy and stay happy.”
