Sri Lanka cricketer Shehan Madushanka has made the headlines for all the wrong reasons. He was detained by the police on Sunday after being charged for possessing drugs. The local magistrate has sent him on police remand for two weeks. The cricketer has also been charged for breaking the lockdown rules. Police detained him from Sri Lanka’s town of Pannala while driving a car with another person despite the nationwide lockdown in place.

As for Madushanka, he has so far played an ODI and a couple of T20 International for Sri Lanka. The pace bowler made his debut in January 2018 but managed to play only three matches in a match due to injury concerns. Shehan Madhushanka had 2 grams of heroin with him

He was carrying just over two grams of heroin when detained in the town of Pannala on Sunday,” a police official said.

As far as his career is concerned, the 25-year-old has featured in 14 first-class, 19 List-A and 17 T20 matches in domestic cricket. And after this incident, it remains to be seen if Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) will allow him to play again.
