Sri Lanka v Pakistan 2nd T20I – 5 talking points: On 1st August, Colombo witnessed the final hammering on the nail as Pakistan locked horns with Sri Lanka for one final time in the 2nd and last T20I match of the series. The Sri Lankan’s did everything which they could have to deflate the triumphant Pakistani side but Pakistan inflicted a T20I series whitewash over Sri Lanka. The match was set-up by the blistering knock of Shahid Afridi but it was the heroics of Anwar Ali which routed out the Sri Lankan’s from the match as Pakistan won the match by 1 wicket in the final over.

1. Heroics of Anwar Ali:
Although, Anwar Ali had a horrendous time with the ball in hand but he more than made up for it with a breath-taking 17 ball 46 run knock which transpired Pakistan to their first ever 1-wicket glory in T20I cricket. When Ali arrived at the crease, the Pakistan team was tottering at 107-7 which shattered the hopes of millions of Pakistani’s back home. But, Ali’s brute innings led his team to a victory from the jaws of defeat. He blasted 4 sixes and 3 fours en route of his knock which came at a strike-rate of 270.
