The first Test between Sri Lanka and England in Galle is interestingly poised at the moment. The hosts, after getting bowled out for 135 in the first innings, batted well in their second essay to set up a target of 74 runs in front of England. Though the target seemed very less, the pitch has turned into a minefield and it is turning square. The visiting batsmen couldn’t handle the spin early in their innings and were reduced to 12/3.

However, Jonny Bairstow and Dan Lawrence managed to hang in and added an unbeaten 24 runs to end the day on 38/3. But before the duo got together, it was all chaos in England camp as Dom Sibley and Zak Crawley took poor decisions in the middle while Joe Root got run-out. Amidst all this, a hilarious incident took place with the ever-adventurous Niroshan Dickwella in the middle of it as he ended up almost hurting his teammate.

Sri Lanka were expectedly elated after dismissing the England skipper as they sensed a chance of winning the Test from nowhere. Dickwella was the man to affect the direct hit to send back Root and no wonder, he was delighted. While celebrating the fall of a wicket, hilariously, he ended up hitting his teammate Wanindu Hasaranga on his face.

Niroshan Dickwella was giving high fives to his teammates and did the same with full intensity to Hasaranga whose hand collapsed after the gesture was completed. Eventually, the Sri Lanka wicket-keeper ended up hitting the leg-spinner on his face. The funny video was captured by England Cricketer Kate Cross and was in splits after posting it on her official Twitter account.

Here’s the video:

England favourites but anything can happen on Day 5

England need 36 more runs to win on Day 5 with seven wickets in hand but the way the pitch is turning, anything can happen on Monday. Sri Lanka will fancy their chances as they need a couple more quick wickets to trigger a panic in the opposition camp. It will be interesting to see if there is another twist in the tale in this Test match.
