Modern day cricketers are indeed fearless. And the best example of the same is currently being witnessed in the ongoing first ODI between India and Sri Lanka. Prithvi Shaw started it all smashing boundaries at will in the chase of 263 runs. He had a share of 43 runs off 24 balls in the opening partnership of 58 runs along with his skipper Shikhar Dhawan.

Dhananjaya de Silva dismissed him in his very first over and Sri Lanka might have hoped for some respite in the run-scoring. However, it wasn’t to be. The debutant and the birthday boy Ishan Kishan walked out to bat and just disdainfully smacked it out of the park.

Not many would’ve done what Kishan did as there are always nerves in a debut game for a player. But the southpaw cleared his intentions from the word go by smashing a six off the first ball. Not only this, he opened his arms off the very next ball to take toll of the width to race to 10 off the first two balls.

Here’s the video:

This isn’t the first time Ishan Kishan has started the innings off with a bang. On his T20I debut against England earlier this year, the left-hander had scored a four off fast bowler Jofra Archer. Chasing 165, Kishan opened the innings with KL Rahul and ended up smashing 56 off just 32 balls with five fours and four sixes to his name.

The 23-year-old will now be hoping to play a big knock in yet another tough chase for India with his skipper Shikhar Dhawan batting calmly at the other end. As far as the match is concerned, India are well on their way to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series thanks to scintillating starts from Shaw and Ishan Kishan. Earlier, the bowlers did well to restrict Sri Lanka to 262 runs in their 50 overs.
