Preview

The first T20I between Sri Lanka and New Zealand was quite a humdinger. Fortunes kept swaying throughout and in the end, it was the visitors who emerged triumphs. Efforts from Ross Taylor, Colin de Grandhomme and Tim Southee helped them get over the line in the match that boiled down to the last over. Lasith Malinga and his men, however, will be dejected after this loss.

They batted poorly after the powerplay overs and let the momentum shift. Yet again, towards the end of the second innings, they crumbled under pressure. Some silly mistakes during critical junctures of the match led to their downfall. However, they will love to come back strong in this game and prove their point to the opposition.

Weather Report

The chances of rain on Tuesday are very less. Thus, we should get to see a full game of cricket. Also, with the humidity on the higher side, the pitch is likely to quicken up and assist the batsmen.

Pitch Condition/Report:

With the new ball, there might be some swing on offer. However, batting will get easy once they get their eye in just like in the previous game.

Average first innings score: 167 (Last 5 T20s at this venue)

Record of chasing teams: Won – 3, Lost – 2, Tied – 0
