Star India initiates a new program ahead of the IPL
Star decides to bring in young fans on its new show to discuss the game plan of different teams ahead of the 11th edition of the Indian Premier League.

With the Indian Premier League (IPL) just over a month away, the excitement for the league is all building up. The new broadcaster, Star India is coming up with various initiatives ahead programs to build up into the action this year. Star Sports has launched a city-based fan activation programme for the Indian Premier League. Alongside the various new shows, the Star network is now looking to build the fan connect with the league.
The broadcaster is now trying to involve the fans in their shows so as to get a better response. In a new show called ‘Game Plan in Your City’, the fans were found interacting with cricket analysts to discuss the plans. The show is set to take place in the home cities of all the IPL franchisees. It started off from the City of Nizam, Hyderabad, the home of Sunrisers Hyderabad.
A unique initiative from Star India
Commencing the caravan from Hyderabad, Star Sports experts in VIVO IPL 2018 Irfan Pathan and Akash Chopra along with show host Jatin Sapru interacted with the fans from Indus International School in Hyderabad. The young fans also got an opportunity to interact with of the current Sunrisers Hyderabad squad – Deepak Hooda, Tanmay Agarwal, and Mehdi Hasan.
“With my role changing from opening bowler to opening discussions, it is great to be associated once again with VIVO IPL in 2018, as an expert for the Star Sports team. Game Plan commences its journey in Hyderabad today and witnessing the action on the ground, I would say it is a great initiative that provides fans with unprecedented access to players and expert opinions. With one of the most balanced squads, SRH looks one of the strongest contenders for IPL 2018,” Irfan Pathan said on the sidelines of ‘Game Plan’.
The show will be telecast on Star Sports HD 1, Star Sports 1, Star Sports 1 Hindi, Star Sports First starting 10th March, 9:00 am every weekend. In the lead-up to the IPL, Star Sports will bring 60 hours of dedicated programming per month featuring a daily dose of proprietary shows such as Game Plan, Cricket Countdown, and Franchise specific episodes. The broadcaster aims to interact with students in various schools from different cities in India soon.
