Amid Coronavirus outbreak, the cricketing activities have come down to a major halt. The governments of different nations have announced lockdown in their countries which has led to no cricket being played at the moment. Meanwhile, the International Cricket Council has become quite pro-active on its social media platform to interact with the fans.

The cricketing industry is majorly hit due to global pandemic. Almost all the major tournaments and series have come down to a tragic standstill as they have been postponed for an indefinite period. There is no update over when the cricket action will be back for the fans.

ICC shares a guess post with the fans

It is a tough time for cricket fans who are craving for the cricket matches. If the situation was normal, at this time every ardent follower of cricket would have been enjoying Indian Premier League (IPL) that was scheduled to begin from March 29.

In this struggling period, ICC is trying its level best to ease out some stress of the fans by sharing some questions with their posts on social media platforms. Recently, the apex cricket council took to its Twitter handle and shared a still of a stand during the sun-set time. They also gave a caption to it that read, “Guess the ground.” Soon, the fans came out with some whacky replies in their answer to ICC’s guess the ground post.

While the ICC was expecting some legit replies from the fans, the social media gimmicks came up with some creative responses which has left many in splits.

ICC CEO gives a statement regarding the resumption of cricket

Earlier this month, Manu Sawhney, the ICC Chief Executive said that they will take the important decisions in the upcoming days keeping the both ICC and bilateral cricket in their mind. Moreover, everyone will be informed about their step in relation to the resumption of international cricket.

“We agreed on the importance of making well informed, responsible decisions in relation to the resumption of international cricket. The complexities involved in being able to stage ICC global events are extensive to ensure we protect the health and safety of everyone involved and they will be carefully considered before any decisions are arrived at in the best interests of the game,” ICC Chief Executive said.
