The advent of T20 leagues across the world has kept the players busy throughout who have bid adieu to international cricket. Windies cricketers have been always at the top in the shortest format of the game be it the leagues or at the international level.

They feature in almost every tournament happening around the cricketing globe and it is not so surprising that they have won the ICC World T20 twice. However, they have dominated the format yet again in 2017 and as many as four players among the ten who scored most runs in T20 cricket are from the Caribbean.

Brendon McCullum though has managed to go past all of them and is the highest run-scorer in the format this year. He has amassed 1493 runs in 55 innings with a whopping 11 half-centuries and was recently part of the title-winning side Rangpur Riders in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). His opening partner Chris Gayle is next on the list who smashed two centuries in last three matches of the league. He has scored 1279 runs, 146 being his highest in 42 chances to bat in the middle.

Kieron Pollard is third behind the Universe Boss with the most number of matches compared to others and has smashed 1225 runs in 60 outings. His strike rate of 147.77 is better than Gayle and has played some of the sensational knocks this year. Evin Lewis and Dwayne Smith are the players from Windies who just love to clobber the bowlers all around the park.

Hashim Amla has once again proved that he is the master of all formats by featuring in this list despite playing the least number of matches. He has played only 26 games amassing 1021 runs and is seventh in the list of top run-machines. His average of 48.62 is also highest amongst all and also points to the fact that he is consistent even in the shortest format of the game. Lewis boasts of the highest strike rate of 165.05 to go with the second best average of over 40 in the format in 31 innings.

Aaron Finch of Australia follows him in terms of strike rate as he strikes at 160 runs per 100 balls. He is at number 4 and the only Australian on the charts with 1217 runs in 38 outings to go with eight half-centuries and a solitary three-figure score. Jos Buttler, Luke Ronchi and Babar Azam are the other batsmen in the list who have scored runs in abundance for their respective teams in the format.
