Virat Kohli continued to improve his numbers in the Test cricket on English soil as the Indian skipper scored a brilliant 103 in the 2nd innings of the ongoing Nottingham Test. Kohli shared crucial partnerships with Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane to help India set a huge target of 521 in front of the hosts. He got out soon after reaching three-figures something unusual by his standards.

Kohli went past Sourav Ganguly’s tally of 1694 runs in the first innings; the most by an Indian captain outside home. He also holds the record for most runs in Test cricket as an Indian captain.
