India and Pakistan registered massive wins over their opponents in the U19 World Cup to enter the record books.

The U19 World Cup 2018 underway in New Zealand is off to a great start with the top teams putting up some terrific display of cricket. All the 16 teams taking part in this competition are trying to showcase their talents and potential. The youngsters are being tested in this quest to win the coveted title of U19 World Cup champions.

Biggest wins in terms of balls to spare

The Indian U19 team is on a roll with two big wins in their baggage after the first couple of games as they defeated Australia in the first encounter by 100 runs and have now secured their second big victory by 10 wickets against a lowly Papa New Guinea side.

It was an absolutely incredible win for the Indian colts courtesy some great bowling by left-arm spinner Anukul Roy who picked up 5 wickets in the match. This was India‘s biggest wins in the junior World Cup matches in terms of balls to spare as their openers finished the game with 252 balls to spare.

This win is also the second biggest victory for a side in the history of the tournament, with Australia securing the top position as they hold the record having concluded a game with 277 balls to spare.

It was a day of high action at the competition as the Pakistan Under-19 team also defeated Ireland by 9 wickets and with 247 balls to spare. This win occupies the fourth spot among the biggest wins in Youth ODIs in terms of the number of balls that were still available to be played. Left-arm medium pacer Shaheen Afridi was the star for the Pakistani team as he claimed six wickets in the match-winning performance.

247 balls – Pakistan v Ireland, January 16, 2018
