Team India was phenomenal in their victory last night. They absolutely demolished the Sri Lankans. First, it was a very good batting display from the Indians as they piled up a good score on a skiddy wicket. KL Rahul was back in the XI as the opener and did fantastically well. He is one of those batters who can quickly gain ground and get back to his best.

India started well last night with a superb half-century by Rahul. He scored 61 of just 48 deliveries at a strike rate of 127. He hit seven fours and a six to get there. They experimented a bit with their batting line-up and former Indian captain MS Dhoni walked in at number four.

Considering the conditions Dhoni played a good hand of 39 from 22 as India finished with 180 for 3 in their 20 overs. The other major contributor was Manish Pandey who added a quickfire 32.

Sri Lanka, on the other hand, struggled to break the early shackles. They were webbed by some superb wrist spin bowling as Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav tumbled them again and shared six wickets between them; 4 for Chahal and 2 for Yadav.

India won the match by 93 runs; their highest ever margin in T20 Internationals. They have beaten many teams in such comprehensive fashion. The previous victory that held this record was against England. The margin was 90 runs in 2012. They had scored 171 then. In 2014 the Men in Blue beat the Australians in the shortest format by 73 runs having posted a modest 163 on the board.

The latest of all the record wins was against England on 1st of February when India thrashed the Brits by 75 runs after piling up 203 in the first innings. Let us have a look at some of those in the table below.
