Scotland are having a productive month of June having defeated the No.1 ODI side England and have now won the Tri-nation T20I series. After a quite T20I series against Pakistan, Scotland began the Triangular series with a defeat against Ireland.

However, they managed to tie their 2nd match and defeated the Netherlands in the 3rd fixture. The final game of the tournament between the Scots and Dutch turned out to be a virtual final as whoever won tops the table. In the big match, the Scottish side produced their A game to win the tournament with a record 115-run win.

2 – Scotland’s innings is only the 2nd in T20I history with two individual fifties coming in 24 and fewer deliveries. Colin Munro and Martin Guptill hit fifties in 14 and 19 balls respectively against Sri Lanka in 2016.


3 – Three players scored fifties for Scotland in this game making it only the 4th instance of three players with 50+ scores in a T20I inning. India and South Africa had three fifties against England respectively in the 2007 and 2016 WT20 matches. Ireland recorded this against Scotland earlier in this Tri-series.


3 – Scotland had 50+ stands for each of their first three wickets. This is the 4th instance when a team had three 50+ partnerships for their first three wickets in a T20I inning. Overall, the Scotland innings is the 9th in T20I cricket with three stands of fifty and more.


22 – George Munsey’s 22-ball fifty in this game is the fastest fifty for Scotland in T20I format. Richie Berrington’s 24-ball fifty in this game is the second fastest T20I fifty for Scotland. The previous fastest fifty in T20I cricket for Scotland was off 28 balls jointly held by Berrington and Matthew Cross.


71 – Munsey’s 71-run inning is the 2nd highest individual score by any player in the T20I format for Scotland. Richie Berrington’s 100 against Bangladesh in 2012 is the highest T20I score for Scotland.


115 – Scotland’s 115-run win is their biggest win in terms of runs in T20I cricket and the 6th biggest winning margin for any team in this format. Their previous biggest win in T20Is was only 37 runs while Netherland’s previous biggest defeat was 91 runs against Hong Kong in 2017.


221/3 – Scotland’s total of 221/3 in this game is their first ever 200+ total in T20I cricket and also the first 200+ total conceded by the Netherlands in this format. Scotland’s previous highest T20I score was 189/3 against Hong Kong in 2017 while the previous highest Netherlands conceded was 189/4 to Ireland in the 2014 WT20.
