A week after the record partnership in Sheffield Shield with Marcus Harris, the Victorian opener Will Pucovski smashed yet another double century. The 22-year-old’s successive batting efforts earned some voices calling for his inclusion in the Test squad against India later this year. Pucovski scored a 348-ball 202 against the Western Australia team at the Karen Rolton Oval before he got out in the bowling of Matthew Kelly after been part of two 170+ partnerships. The dismissal brought an end to his stay of 1005 consecutive minutes this season without getting out.

Here are some of the major stats and records created by Will Pucovski with his successive double tons:

2/2 – Will Pucovski has scored double centuries in his both outings as an opener in first-class cricket. His unbeaten 255 against South Australia recently was marked to be his first-ever innings as an opener in his FC career.

3 – Pucovski now has smashed as many as three double centuries in his Sheffield Shield career. A total of 28 players in Sheffield Shield history have registered three or more double tons including Pucovski.

However, only 14 players have struck more than three Sheffield double centuries till date. For Victoria, only Bill Ponsford (7), Alan Kippax (5) and Dean Jones (5) have scored more than three double tons in Sheffield Shield.

8 – Will Pucovski became only the 8th player to smash double centuries in consecutive Sheffield Shield innings. The 22-year-old is also only the 3rd player with this feat for Victoria after Bill Ponsford (1927) and Dean Jones (1991).

Pucovski is also the first Australian to score double centuries in consecutive first-class innings since Michael Clarke who scored double tons against visiting South Africa team in 2012.

22y 281d – Pucovski was 22 years and 281 days old on Monday when he brought up 3rd double century of his Sheffield Shield career. The only player younger than Pucovski to score 3rd double ton in Sheffield Shield was Sir Donald Bradman.

The legendary batsman was 22 years and 113 days old in 1930 when he scored his 3rd double century of the competition. Bradman (Four 200s) and Pucovski are the only players with three or more 200s in Sheffield Shield before turning 23.

27 – Innings Will Pucovski needed to register as many as three double centuries in the Sheffield Shield; the quickest to get there in the competition by bettering Alan Kippax (30 innings).

457 – Only three players managed to score more runs between two dismissals in their Sheffield Shield career. (Don Bradman alone had three streaks bigger than Pucovski) In the last 50 years, only Dean Jones (510 in 1995) had scored more runs between his two dismissals in Sheffield than Pucovski.
