Steve Smith and his partner Dany Willis share a good equation as is evident from their social media pictures, but this time, the Aussie skipper had something special to say to her because she achieved something significant. Earlier, in June, Steve Smith had announced their engagement. The two had been dating for five years and Smith proposed to her on New York’s Top of the Rock.

Today, the Aussie posted a picture of her in a graduation cap after Willis graduated from Macquarie University with a Bachelors’ degree in Commerce and Law. He said, “Very proud of @dani_willis for graduating her commerce/Law degree. Congrats baby. #lawyer”

Work ahead for Smith

Meanwhile, he is having a bad time on the field as a captain on their limited-overs leg of India where they have lost the series as the home side has taken an unassailable lead of 3-0. He himself has not played up to his standards either despite scoring consecutive half-centuries in the last two games. He remained consistent, relatively, but he couldn’t kick on to get a big score.

He has his task cut out now as they will be hoping to win the remaining games as they play for pride and seek revenge for their recent defeats against India. Once their assignment in the subcontinent ends, a busy season lies ahead of the No. 1 Test batsman who will be preparing along with his boys for the Ashes. The series is set to commence on November 23 in Brisbane and will continue till January 8. England has announced their squad while Australia is yet to name it.

Smith will be keen to arrest the slide in the remaining two ODIs so that his side could carry some momentum into the T20I series that follows the ODI series.
