Playing a yorker is one of the toughest jobs for the cricketers. And when a bowler fires a 150 kmph thunderbolt right in the blockhole, there are very few batsmen who can deal with it. Australia batting superstar Steve Smith is definitely one of them. One of the best batsmen in the world, the right-handed batsman is rarely troubled by pacers.

It does not matter whether they bowl full, short, or in the blockhole, Smith comes up with a perfect response more often than not. Perhaps that is what prompted one of his followers to ask him about how to deal with fast yorkers. Smith recently interacted with his fans on Instagram through a question-answer session.

His followers asked him different types of questions related to the game and one of them asked him about the yorker, writing, “How do you play a 150 kmph yorker?”. In reply, the former Australia captain came up with a funny answer although it was technically correct. While the fan must have wanted to know the secret behind Smith’s batting against yorker, the star batsman hilariously wrote, “Hopefully with your bat”

A warning to India

Steve Smith will have to deal with the yorkers soon when he faces the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami and others in the upcoming series against India at home. India and Australia will play three ODIs, three T20Is and four Tests in the next couple of months. The ODI series will start on November 27 in Sydney.

And ahead of the mouth-watering showdown, Steve Smith has fired a warning at the visitors. On Tuesday, he said that he has “found a little something” during the net session that could turn his batting around after a lean IPL where he managed to score a modest 311 runs in 14 games as Rajasthan Royals bowed out at the league stage.

Following the nets on Tuesday, he said he had “found my hands”, giving a signal that he is ready to hit the top form against Virat Kohli & Co. in the coming days.

“I was pretty disappointed with my batting throughout the IPL. Wasn’t consistent enough, I started well and had a few innings here and there. I never really got into a really good rhythm. The last few days I have found something, that people close to me that know me well know, I have sort of found my hands the last few days which I am extremely excited about. It just hasn’t been right until a couple of days ago, and everything clicked in. It’s taken me three-and-half, four months to do it,” Smith said.
