The squads of all the teams look well-equipped and this edition promises to be one of the most closely contested seasons of IPL.
7. Kolkata Knight Riders
The Shahrukh Khan-owned franchise has arguably the best all-rounder of all teams in the form of Andre Russell. Their line-up is a perfect mixture of youth and experience. The opening will be done by the fresh pair of Shubman Gill and Rahul Tripathi, both of whom are extremely talented in their own right. Eoin Morgan is expected to lead the charge at No. 3 while the Delhi-lad Nitish Rana will bat at No. 4.
The hard-hitting Jamaican all-rounder Andre Russell will come in at No. 5 and is expected to attack the bowlers from the very first delivery. Accompanying him in finishing will be the skipper Dinesh Karthik and Rinku Singh. Dinesh Karthik will also take his place behind the stumps. The management is less likely to go ahead with Sunil Narine as an opener this season after he couldn’t impress much during the last edition.
The million-dollar baby Pat Cummins will be leading the pace attack. Prasidh Krishna is likely to get the nod ahead of Sandeep Warrier, Shivam Mavi and Kamlesh Nagarkoti as the second pacer. The spin section will be steered by Sunil Narine and the left-arm chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav.
