The defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad sprung a very big surprise when they rested their in-form player for a crunch game. SRH were against the Mumbai Indians in their first away game of the season. They had began their title defence in a very impressive manner. They won their first two matches of the season in emphatic ways. Playing against the Royal Challengers Bangalore, their bowlers ruled the day.

In the match against the Gujarat Lions, SRH batsmen – David Warner and Moises Henriques – batted in sublime form to register a 9 wicket win for them. Coming into the important match against the Mumbai Indians, they were bolstered by the return of their supreme pace bowler of the IPL 2016 – Mustafizur Rahman.

However, drafting him in would have come at an expense. The player that they chose to bench in place of Mustafizur was Moises Henriques. It came as a very big surprise as Moises had scored two consecutive fifties in the first two matches of the season for them.

When asked about the team combination at the toss, skipper David Warner revealed a couple of changes. Vijay Shankar was brought in for Bipul Sharma and Mustafizur walked in for Moises Henriques. He reasoned out that Henriques was not well and hence had to miss out on the match.

“We need to be ready in case you lose the toss. Looks like a good wicket to bat on, we need to make the most of the first six overs. Moises is sick tonight, Fizz (Mustafizur Rehman) gets his first game. Vijay Shankar replaces Bipul for his first IPL game,” David Warner quoted at the toss.

Now, it remains to be seen what happens if Henriques gets fit for the next match and at the same time Mustafizur plays well in the match against Mumbai Indians.
