Suresh Raina donates INR 52 lakhs in the battle against Coronavirus pandemic

Over the years, Suresh Raina has developed the personality which tells everybody how good of a person he is. You would often see Raina celebrate someone else’s success like his own and stand with youngsters in their bad times. He is what we can call, an absolute team man. He hasn’t played for India in the last few years but every year in the IPL, Raina comes out and does well for his franchise. Even this year, it was expected that he would play for Chennai Super Kings. However, due to the delay in IPL, his fans have to wait a little longer to witness his batting again.
Amidst the coronavirus threat that has been growing all around the globe, IPL has been delayed and probably will be cancelled. The total number of cases of coronavirus in India has gone beyond 900 and the death count is almost 20 right now. With the growing awareness and the country going into 21-day lockdown, it is expected that the country might face a lot of issues due to the economic crisis among the poor. Citing all these things, Suresh Raina has decided to make an able contribution to the country.
Sachin Tendulkar also donated INR 50 lakhs amid the pandemic
Indian cricketer Suresh Raina on Saturday decided to make a handsome contribution to the relief fund organised by the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and the Prime Minister of India. The left-handed batsman uploaded a tweet to tell everybody that he has decided to give a total of 52 lakh INR in these desperate times. Out of the 52 lakh INR, 21 lakh INR will go to the Uttar Pradesh chief minister’s fund while 31 Lakhs INR will go to the Prime Minister’s fund.

He even urged others to make their contribution.

Suresh Raina is among a few cricketers who have donated money to the relief funds set up by the government. Recently, former Indian batsman, Sachin Tendulkar donated 50 lakh INR to the relief fund. He donated 25 Lakh INR to the Chief Minister of Maharastra’s funds and 25 Lakh INR to the Prime Minister’s fund.
