Suresh Raina posts a snap of his recovery

The 2018 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has seen excitement mounting before the tournament even started. With the two heavy-weight franchises of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) making a comeback into the glamorous cricketing gala after a two-year-long hiatus, fans have been excited to witness the good cricketing action.

However, it came as a blow for CSK fans when their star all-rounder, Suresh Raina was ruled out for two games owing to an injury sustained on the field.

31 years-old Raina has been a constant fixture in the CSK side and his association with the yellow jersey has become a become a comforting sight for the fans of the side. He was one of the three players to be retained by the franchise in 2018 IPL and has played in both the matches CSK have played in the tournament till now. In a recently posted image, Raina put the agitated minds of his fans to rest as to how quickly he’s recovering from the injury.

In what can be called a comforting gesture towards his fans, Raina took to Social Media platform, Instagram, to post an image of his recovery process. With both, his legs wrapped up sturdily in casts and an impish grin on his face, Raina looked like he was well on the path of recovery. The dependable batsman captioned the image as “Recovery on process”.

It was in CSK’s match against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) that Raina sustained a calf muscle injury and was subsequently ruled out of the two following matches. What CSK is bound to miss the most is Raina’s dependable batting skills along with his lightning quick reflexes in the field. Till now, Raina has been able to score just 18 runs in the first two encounters that he’s appeared in the yellow jersey. The MS Dhoni-led side is also set to miss the services of the South African pacer, Lungi Ngidi who has had to fly back home owing to a family urgency.
