Chennai Super Kings’ star batsman Suresh Raina is all geared up to join his team’s camp for the upcoming IPL season. The 2021 edition will begin in less than three weeks and Raina posted a video of his last work-out session on social media before he joins the camp. The left-handed batsman had missed the 2020 edition due to personal matters.

CSK’s preparation camp for the IPL 2021 had started a month before the start of the season, with captain MS Dhoni being one of the first to join the team. Raina, on the other hand, has been training in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. He uploaded the video on Instagram before travelling to Chennai for the camp.

Raina’s CSK teammate Faf du Plessis also wrote a comment. The South African wrote, “See you soon, brother”. To this, the former Indian batsman wrote that he is getting a bat for du Plessis. “Done brother! Getting a bat for you,” Raina wrote.

Both Raina and du Plessis have been long time members of the CSK franchise. Raina has played for Chennai since 2008, the inaugural season while du Plessis joined the set-up in 2011 and has been a member since then. The former Proteas skipper had a good season last time around, having scored 449 runs at an average of 40.81 along with a strike rate of 140.75.

Chennai had its worst season in the IPL in 2020. For the first time, they failed to qualify for the final four. In the 2021 edition, which could be the final year for their captain MS Dhoni, Chennai would be looking for a better finish. They would be eyeing their fourth title, having won previously in the 2010, 2011, and 2018 seasons.

Chennai have added some new faces to their line-up. Moeen Ali, the England all-rounder, and Karnataka spinner, K Gowtham were added to the squad for big money. On the other hand, they also have some exciting young talents in Ruturaj Gaikwad, N Jagadeesan, and Harishankar Reddy. Their first match will be against Delhi Capitals in Mumbai on April 10.
