With cricketing responsibilities off his back, India middle-order batsman Suresh Raina has taken his wife Priyanka and daughter Gracia to Paris. The family were seen enjoying breakfast in what seemed like a bistro in the French capital.

Raina took to Instagram to post a snap of the family relaxing in Paris, with a tag that read, “Bonjour ?‍♂️ #paris #breakfast #Gracia.” The left-hander was blessed with a daughter last year, and has her named tattooed on his left forearm as well.

Earlier in the month of June, Raina was spotted in Amsterdam with his wife Priyanka Chaudhary. He has been spending quality time with his family and has been active on social media as well, regularly posting updates of his holidays.

Raina and his recent cricket

Unfortunately for Suresh Raina, he missed out on India‘s squad that played the ICC Champions Trophy, and wasn’t selected for the Windies tour either. He captained the Gujarat Lions in the 2017 edition of the IPL, but the team finished 7th on the table. In 2016 however, the Lions had topped the table at the end of the league stage.

Suresh Raina didn’t have a bad IPL season himself though. Off 14 matches, he collected 442 runs at an impressive strike rate of 143.97. His highest score in the season was 84, which came against the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens.

Raina’s last appearance in an international game came in February this year against England. However, it’s been a while since Suresh Raina last played an ODI. He last played in the 50-over format against South Africa in 2015, where he scored 12 runs. To make matters worse, Raina failed to find a place in the BCCI‘s new list of contracted players. He wasn’t part of any of the three categories, A, B or C, which receive different pay grades.

However, he has been working on his fitness, and hopes to break into the Indian team soon, thus keeping his chances alive for representing India in the 2019 World Cup.
