Veteran Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir turned 36 on October 14 this year. The cricket fraternity took to the social media to wish the veteran opening batsman on the occasion. Both Suresh Raina and Gautam Gambhir are currently out-of-favor candidates in the Indian cricket setup. They are playing in the domestic circuit to earn their places back in the national side. Gambhir acknowledges the wishes

Trying to make a comeback

Gambhir had recently made a comeback in the Indian team in the 2016-17 home Test season. He had performed decently before losing out his position in the team to the likes of KL Rahul, Shikhar Dhawan, and Murali Vijay. Meanwhile, for Suresh Raina, things have been quite tough. He has been on the fringes of a comeback.

However, failure in the yo-yo tests and other fitness concerns has seen him being out of favor for national selection. He last played for India in a T20I match against England earlier this year. He had scored a crucial fifty in that particular game.
