Suryakumar Yadav has been scoring runs at will over last couple of years. He continued his good form with the bat even in the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Moreover, the selectors not picking him in the Indian team for Australia tour had raised a lot of eyebrows. Even Surya was disappointed at that time but continued to perform the same way for the rest of the season.

And ahead of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, the Mumbai batsman seems to be in great touch as well. In a practice game played between Team B (led by Surya) and Team D (led by Yashasvi Jaiswal), he had a brilliant outing with the bat. Coming out to bat at three, Suryakumar Yadav smashed 120 runs off just 47 balls sending almost all the opposition bowlers out of the park.

However, he took a special liking to Sachin Tendulkar‘s son Arjun Tendulkar in the 13th over of the innings. The left-arm pacer had fared decently until then in his first two overs but had to face the wrath of Surya who was in amazing form with the bat.

Arjun was taken apart for a six and three overs in the same over and his figures were disturbed badly. As for Suryakumar Yadav, he scored 120 runs at a whopping strike-rate of 255.32 hitting 10 fours and nine sixes and the batsman was retired hurt.

Team B slam 213 in 20 overs

Riding on Suryakumar Yadav’s whirlwind knock, Team B ended up posting a huge total of 213 runs for the loss of five wickets on the board after 20 overs. Arjun Tendulkar came back well in the death after going for 21 runs in a single over.

He castled Siddharth Akre in the 19th over of the innings ending with the figures of 1/33 in his four overs. Apart from a single bad over, he bowled decently and will be keen on doing better in the next game. Suryakumar Yadav, on the other hand, will be looking to continue in the same vein.
