After a comfortable 4-0 win in the unofficial ODI series against the English counties, Australia A look forward to the 2-match unofficial Test series starting on Sunday. In the first of the two games, the visiting team will face Sussex in Arundel. Australia A is set to miss Peter Handscomb during the series as the keeper-batsman got included into the Australia World Cup squad as a replacement for Shaun Marsh.

The Luke Wells-led Sussex team did not name a squad for this fixture as strong as they would have wanted. The likes of Chris Jordan, Ollie Robinson, Ben Brown and David Wiese have been rested keeping their workloads in mind. Stiaan van Zyl is currently recovering from elbow injury while Pakistan pacer Mir Hamza gained full fitness and will feature in this match. Hamza missed Sussex’s previous four matches due to a back issue.

Match Details:

The 1st game of the 2-match unofficial Test series will be played between Sussex and Australia A at the Arundel Castle in Arundel.

The match starts at 11:30 AM local time (10:30 AM GMT) (4:00 PM IST).

Pitch Condition/Report:

The Arundel Castle ground has hosted only five first-class matches since the start of 2016. If we look at the scorecards of those games, it gives a look of an, unlike England track. A couple of games give a feeling of being on the slower side and a couple of them witnessing spinners taking wickets in the second innings.

Expert Advice:

Australia A has already missed Peter Handscomb due to injury to Shaun Marsh. It seems Usman Khawaja also had a tough injury. If he doesn’t recover in time, another player from this squad could be picked for the mega event; preferably Matthew Wade.

Probable Winners:

Australia A is expected to begin the series with a comfortable win depending on the track provided.
