Gujarat and Bengal will face off in a crucial Group A game of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Super League round. If Gujarat losses this game, they are most likely to be knocked out from in this round itself. They began the Super League with a 1-run defeat against the Jharkhand team. Needing six runs to win from the last two deliveries, Chirag Gandhi missed a scoop on the penultimate delivery and could only edge the last ball to a four.

Earlier in the league stage, Chirag’s lone man effort against Tamil Nadu nearly won them the game. However, a run off a wide brought curtains to the game when Gujarat needed two more runs to win with nine wickets down. Jharkhand won both the matches they played in the Super League thus far. This means the team making it to the final from their group other than Jharkhand needs to finish with three wins. Maharashtra defeated Bengal by seven wickets on Saturday.

Probable Winners:

The inform Maharashtra team will be high on confidence compared to Gujarat after their respective first matches in this round.
