The shortest format which is T20 cricket has now been replaced with T10 cricket. The 2018 edition of the T10 cricket league has had a rollicking start. The league started on November 21 with the bowlers coming apart and the batsmen smashing each and every record with ease. The very first match of the tournament announced in itself that this league is going to be one heck of a run-fest.

It has also proclaimed that the batsmen may be the only ones going to have an upper hand in the tournament. Mohammad Shahzad, the explosive Afghan opening batsman, set the tone for a dominating performance by the Rajputs as he made a mockery of the target of 95 set by the Sindhis.

The wicketkeeper-batsman smashed an unbelievable 74 not out off 16 deliveries to take his team over the line. There wasn’t single bowler in the Sindhis’ line-up who went for less than 20, including Jofra Archer, Thisara Perera, Fawad Ahmed, and Mohammad Nawaz.

Watson’s Sindhis hand Rajputs a stiff target

Shahzad’s fifty came off just 12 balls, which is the fastest in the T10 history. His monstrous display of innings included six fours and eight sixes. He again proved why he is one of the most brutal and the fierce batsmen in world cricket. His non-striker, Brendon McCullum, who is another sweet striker of the ball was a mere spectator as the Rajputs gunned down the score of 95 with six overs to spare.

The right-hander’s shots were stunning. Though they weren’t clean strikes, he made sure that the ball reached the boundary and cleared the fence comfortably. Earlier, batting first, the Sindhis, led by Shane Watson, scored 94 for the loss of six wickets.

The retired Aussie all-rounder scored 42 off just 20 balls, however, the other batsmen failed to reach double figures which meant that Sindhis fell well short of where they wanted to be. For the Rajputs, former Indian pacer Munaf Patel took three wickets to restrict their opponents to a modest target.
