Pakistani stalwart Shoaib Malik recently completed 19 years in International cricket, a feat achieved by very few cricketers in the history. The all-rounder is all set to be a crucial member of the World Cup squad and if they are to revisit the glory days of 1992, the experience of Malik will count big time.
Popular Tennis player and Malik’s wife Sania Mirza recently gave birth to their first baby and despite all his International commitments, the senior cricketer has been trying to spend time with his wife. To spend further more time with them, he withdrew from the T10 League, as announced by himself via his official Twitter handle.
Want to be with my wife and son: Malik
The veteran who has scored over 11,000 runs in International cricket, posted a message confirming his departure from the upcoming T10 League. The second edition of this innovative tournament will kick-start on 21st November and the final will be played on 2nd December in Sharjah.
Malik said in his tweet that he has to spend time with his family and although his wife thinks he has to play the tournament, he will not be a part of the Punjab legends setup. He also said that this was a difficult decision to make, but he just wants to be with his wife and son more than anything else.
“I announce with mixed feelings that I will be not be part of Punjab Legends side in the T10 League to spend time with my family. This was a tough decision (sp since my wife thinks I should play) but I want to be with my wife and son more than anything else. Hope you all will understand,” The 36-year-old said.

Despite his departure, the Punjab Legends have some decent names in the side and should be able to cope with his absence. The likes of Chris Jordan, Luke Ronchi, Umar Akmal, Liam Plunkett, and others will have to shoulder the side’s responsibility.
