The ongoing season of the T10 League in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has been a huge hit as compared to the last year. The organisers came up with a total of eight teams and a new format to keep the fans engaged as the move worked wonders for them. Sharjah Cricket Association Stadium has been filling to its capacity over the last few days which has left everyone buoyed. However, ahead of the final which is set to be played on Sunday, it has been confirmed that UAE will host the competition next year as well in October.

Next year, the third season of the T10 League will commence on October 16 and the action will conclude on the 25th making it a 10-day tournament like it was scheduled this time around. As far as the ongoing edition is concerned, Northern Warriors and Pakhtoons will be locking horns in the final while the Maratha Arabians and will play the Bengal Tigers in the third place play-off.

Announcement made in the presence on ECB chairman

The 10th day of the T10 League witnessed the Minister of Tolerance and Chairman of Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) visiting Sharjah for the game between Northern Warriors and Rajputs. He was extremely upbeat about hosting the tournament next year as well and was happy to see the T10 League popularise.

“T10 League has been a huge success and will re-position the UAE in the global cricket map. T10 League is an important innovative step that will popularise the game of cricket and this is emerging from the UAE and will spread to the world,” he was quoted as saying by the Gulf News.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the T10 League, Shaji Ul Mulk confirmed that the dates of the league are announced well in advance so that it doesn’t collide with the other major tournaments. “The new dates have been announced to ensure that they do not clash with any major international tournaments of series and that will help us to attract the best cricketing names and talents so that they could play and enrich the 10-over format cricket and help it to expand worldwide,” Shaji said.
