There is little doubt over the fact that Andre Russell is one of the most if not the most devastating batsman in world cricket right now. The hard-hitting batsman has been hitting sixes for fun in recent months. His exploits in this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL) had left almost everyone in awe. Thus it would not be very wrong to say that not many bowlers like to bowl to Russell.

Perhaps this is the reason why one has not seen the West Indies allrounder getting intimidated by any bowler. However, he did face some music from Qais Ahmad while playing in the ongoing Abu Dhabi T10 League. Ahmad, in fact, floored Russell by bowling a deadly bouncer. Russell, who was batting without his helmets on, made sure to move out of the line of the ball in time.

But the bouncer was so well directed that the allrounder lost his balance even though he had made sure to move away from the firing line. Russell was all over the ground before Ahmad came running towards him with a smile on his face and also apologised for the bouncer.

Here’s the video:

Andre Russell’s knock in vain

Talking about the match, Qais Ahmad’s Bangla Tigers beat Andre Russell’s Northern Warriors by six runs in a close game. Asked to field first, Bangla Tigers finished their innings on 102 for 6 in the allotted 10 overs. Openers Rilee Rossouw and Andre Fletcher gave the team a good start by adding 46 runs for the first wicket before the team suffered a collapse.

They lost wickets in a heap to found themselves five down for just sixty from 46 for no loss. But Robbie Frylinck slammed 36 from just 12 balls, in the end, to guide his side to a good total. It turned out to be the difference. Andre Russell top-scored for his side, scoring 41 off 25 but it was not enough as Warriors finished on 96 for 6.
