India and Pakistan are going to play the much-awaited clash on 24 October in T20 World Cup 2021 where it will be a thing to see which party dominates the other. In the same line of events, former Australian batter and Pakistan batting consultant (for T20 WC) Matthew Hayden talked about the role of leadership in such a high-octane clash.

Hayden began by adding how respective leaders like Eoin Morgan and MS Dhoni took their team to the finale of IPL 2021. He said Pakistan skipper Babar Azam in the same manner will have a great role to play as a leader and as an ace batter of their side.

“There will be additional pressure on him as captain and batsman because he will be targeted and everyone will be wanting to like they say, put him in their pocket. Babar has command and presence and he needs to fulfill that role in a batting sense and captain,” said Hayden in a media interaction as quoted by NDTV.

Moving further into the conversation, Hayden added which Indian batters can pose a threat to Pakistan in the much-awaited clash. He took the names of KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant and lauded them for their skills. The former Australian stated that he has seen Rahul’s struggles and how he has gone on to dominate the shorter formats. Talking about Pant, Hayden was of the view that the youngster has a great vision of the game and how is able of destroying bowling attacks.

“More or less, I have watched KL Rahul grow and he is a major threat to Pakistan. I have watched him grow up as a boy. I have seen his struggles and his dominance in shorter formats. I have seen someone like Rishabh Pant, his brash nature and beautiful vision for the game, how he has destroyed bowling attacks because he has got the opportunity because he sees it that way,” he added.

India is currently in Dubai and has won its warm-up games against Australia and England in the recent while.
