T20 World Cup 2021: Banter in ‘Mauka Mauka’ ad continues as Indo-Pak clash approaches

The high-voltage T20 World Cup 2021 is underway and fans can’t keep calm. While many exciting encounters are in the pipeline, the clash between India and Pakistan has to be the most awaited. The two arch-rivals will meet at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on October 24. With India and Pakistan sharing a history of rivalry, cricket fans of both nations have marked their calendars.

While Pakistan are head of India in terms of overall head-to-head record in international cricket, they have nothing to show in World Cup events. While the Men in Blue defeated their arch-rivals seven times in 50-over World Cups, they defeated them five times in World T20. Hence, the Men in Green are still searching for their maiden World Cup victory against India.

With India having a perfect record against Pakistan in global events, Star Sports has been releasing ‘Mauka Mauka’ advertisements ahead of India vs Pakistan World Cup clashes for the past few years. Apparently, the advertisement showcases the desire of a Pakistani fan to see his countrymen defeating India in World Cup.

With another Indo-Pak clash being around the corner, another ‘Mauka Mauka’ ad was released. It showed a fun banter between the Pakistan fan and an Indian supporter, who also owns an electronic shop in Dubai. As the Pakistan supporter went to the electronic shop to buy a TV, the Indian fan pulled his leg by offering him a ‘buy one and break one’ scheme.

On Tuesday (October 19), Star Sports launched another installment of the ad which showed the two supporters continuing their banter. The two fans can be seen listing out the prominent players using different adjectives. “ICC Men’s #T20WorldCup ke se pehle, shuru ho chuka hai Maukaman aur Lovely Paaji ka! As the advertisement showcased, both sides are studded with match-winners and hence, it would be interesting to see how their contest pans out. Both teams even won their respective first warm-up matches and would take the field with great confidence.
