With the T20 World Cup just around the corner, some of the participating teams have already revealed their national jerseys for the mega event. However, India is all set to reveal its jersey for the World Cup on October 13. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) took it to their official Twitter account to make the announcement about the same.

BCCI also added a fitting caption to the post. “The moment we’ve all been waiting for! Join us for the big reveal on 13th October only on @mpl_sport. Are you excited?” the caption read. The Tweet received a lot of reactions wherein the fans commented that they are hoping that the original light blue color jersey makes a return this time around for the marquee event. MPL sports will sponsor team India’s jersey for the high-profile ICC tournament.

India had previously made a shift to the dark blue retro jersey during the white-ball series against Australia in 2020. India will kick start their World Cup campaign with two warm-up games against England and Australia on 18 and 20. The team will then lock horns with arch-rivals Pakistan for their opening game of the tournament.

The T20 World Cup will be Virat Kohli’s last assignment as India’s T20 captain

Recently, Virat Kohli announced that he will step down as team India’s T20 captain post the upcoming T20 World Cup. A few days later he also announced that this will be his last year as RCB’s captain and after this season he will play only as a player for the franchise.

India’s head coach Ravi Shastri is also likely to make way for some other candidate post the World Cup. Bowling coach B Arun and fielding coach R Sridhar would also probably be on their last assignment with team India.

Whereas on the other hand, MS Dhoni has been appointed as Team India’s mentor for the mega event. The former skipper has had a successful run with the team as he had led India to all the three ICC trophies glory. His experience is expected to help the Virat Kohli-led side to make a greater impact in the tournament.
