T20 World Cup 2021: Pat Cummins departs to UAE after welcoming first child

Pat Cummins posted a beautiful and emotional video on Instagram welcoming his child.

Pat Cummins welcomed his first child on 8th October 2021. Albie Boston Cummins was welcomed into the family, and the Australian cricketer spent a few days at home along with his wife and his dog.

Cummins posted a beautiful and emotional video on Instagram welcoming his child. The video shows the Cummins family in a joyful mood, the way the entire house was set up for the arrival of the baby child, as well as Cummins’ wife during and after pregnancy.

The video ended with the arrival of the baby boy, and his birth date of 08.10.2021 flashing at the end of the video. You can see Cummins’ Instagram post below.

Pat Cummins will now gear up for the upcoming 2021 T20 World Cup

All the Australian players, including Pat Cummins who are not taking part in the 2021 edition of the IPL left for Dubai on 8th October 2021, and are currently undergoing a mandatory 6-day quarantine ahead of the 2021 T20 World Cup.

Australia is scheduled to play its first warm-up match ahead of the T20 World Cup on 18th October 2021 against the New Zealand side. Australia’s first match of the T20 World Cup this year will be against South Africa, on 23rd October 2021.

Pat Cummins last played a T20 match for the Australian side on 6th September 2020, against the England side at the Rose Bowl. The right-arm pacer is the 7th highest wicket-taker for the kangaroos in T20I cricket and has scalped 37 wickets in 30 matches at an average of 20.62 and a superb strike rate of just 17.84 as well.

Cummins also missed the second half of the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) that is currently underway in the UAE due to the birth of his child as well. Cummins has featured in 37 matches in IPL cricket and has taken 38 wickets at an average of 30.13 and a strike rate of 21.95. He has also scored 316 runs with the willow as well in the IPL.
